This piece occupies one wall of an otherwise bare white gallery space. Black letters which spell out the sentence ‘Now I am really awake’ fade into and out of visibility on the wall, but at no time is the entirety of the sentence present all at once. There is a soundtrack playing in the space which is derived from ‘The Artificial Pine Arch Song’ by the music group Stars of the Lid, layered with a binaural beat at 12 cps and the sound of a tree being felled with an axe.
